Ukraine And Qatar Conclude 10-year Defense Partnership Agreement

What the agreement provides.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has said that Ukraine and Qatar have agreed on a mutually beneficial partnership in the defense sector for at least 10 years.

Zelensky informed Telegram that he met with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamin bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha. Also present at the meeting was Qatari Prime Minister Muhammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.

The Ukrainian president said the two sides discussed the protection of life in both countries and concluded an agreement on projects in the defense industry.

- They discussed how to ensure greater protection of life in our countries and agreed on a mutually beneficial partnership in the defense industry for at least 10 years. At the end of the meeting, the chiefs of our general staffs signed a relevant agreement that provides for joint projects in the defense industry, the creation of coproduction facilities and technological partnerships between companies," the Ukrainian head of state said.

He added that he informed about the security situation in Ukraine, Russia's constant attacks and Moscow's close cooperation with the Iranian regime.

"It is important for us to strengthen air defense, and we count on appropriate support from our partners," Ze summarized He confirmed that an agreement had been concluded and gave some details.

He said the agreement forms a framework for long-term cooperation in the security sphere, particularly in the direction of countering modern air threats and strengthening defense capabilities.

"The document also provides for the development of joint projects, technological cooperation and attraction of investments in security solutions," the SNBO secretary said.
