UAE President Dined At Dubai Mall Cafe To Reassure Residents And Tourists
Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyanah

The appearance of the country's leader in a public place caused a resonance on social networks.

President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Crown Prince of Dubai Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited Dubai Mall amid Iran's strikes on Gulf countries, Anadolu reported.

The UAE president walked around the center along with other senior leaders and then dined at a cafe. The appearance of the country's leader in a public place caused an active reaction on social networks: users posted photos of the president and expressed gratitude to him for maintaining normal life in the country.

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran, after which Tehran launched strikes against Israel and American bases in the Middle East. In the UAE, Iran's attacks hit civilian targets, including Dubai International Airport.

In response to Tehran's actions, the Gulf Cooperation Council (Bahrain, Kuwait, UAE, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Oman) threatened to retaliate. However, this did not stop Iran from launching new attacks. Thus, on March 2, the UAE Ministry of Defense reported the downing of 35 drones on the territory of the country. In total, 541 drones were detected in the sky above the Emirates over the past three days. At the same time, according to the latest data, three people were killed in the UAE, another 68 were injured.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer promised to protect the Gulf countries from Iranian drone attacks. For this purpose, he proposed to involve, among others, the military from Ukraine. In turn, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said he was ready to send the best specialists in intercepting Iranian drones to the Middle East if the leaders of those countries persuade Vladimir Putin to agree to a month-long truce in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
