The "divide the wars" approach doesn't work anymore.
Washington sees Russia as a key factor in escalating conflicts in the Middle East and Europe. According to Western intelligence, Moscow provides Tehran with data for pinpoint strikes against American and Israeli facilities, as well as supplies drones and shares tactics and technology, writes War on the Rocks (translated by Charter97.org).
In this regard, the United States is calling for a review of policy toward Ukraine. Experts suggest lifting restrictions on Kiev's use of U.S. weapons, including ATACMS systems, as well as facilitating the transfer of technology and authorizations for the mass production of Ukrainian precision missiles, drones and other strike equipment. The goal is to strengthen Ukraine's ability to strike Russian military infrastructure and limit support for Iran.
Washington emphasizes that maintaining "safe zones" in Russia and limiting strikes on Russian territory has effectively allowed the Kremlin to expand the conflict to other regions without consequences. U.S. experts insist that Moscow must realize that aid to Iran and aggression against Ukraine will cost it dearly.
The U.S. continues to support diplomatic efforts, but believes that pressure on Russia must include real economic and military costs. Only in this way, according to the authors of the initiative, can the Kremlin be forced to sit at the negotiating table and seek a sustainable settlement of the conflict in Europe, while reducing the threat to U.S. troops in the Middle East.
Experts emphasize that the "divide the wars" approach no longer works: Moscow's actions directly link the situation in Ukraine to the escalation in Iran. The US is ready to use its advantage in military power, without weakening its position in other regions, to force the Kremlin to reconsider its strategy.
