A surprise check of combat readiness was announced by Alexander Lukashenko on January 16. According to the dictator, he "whipped the entire army." And a week ago he said that the armed forces as a whole "showed sufficient combat readiness." However, it did not end there. As one of the relatives of the conscript told "Zerkalo", the "partisans" are still at the firing ranges.
The names of the heroes have been changed for their safety.
On condition of anonymity we talked to Sergei, a relative of 32-year-old Ilya from Hrodna region, who has been at the training camp since early February.
- At first they were in Hrodna, then they all went to different places. Ilya ended up near Baranovichi. He says they were moving at a speed of 30 kilometers per hour. And there the distance was about 250 kilometers - they got tired of driving.
According to Sergei, Ilya did not tell about any ideological studies. The bulk of the officers turned out to be the same "partisans" - military conscripts called up from the reserve.
- Officers are all from civilian life, so they behave normally. They walk around, they don't know when to fuck off," Sergei relays the words of a relative. - There are also cadres, but there are more "partisans". As it was explained to them, the point of the exercises is to practice shooting and troop alignment.
Ilya said that he even shot a couple of times with an AK-47.
- He says that it's boring just to shoot. It gets boring," Sergei describes and adds that UAV pilots train separately at the range. - There are drone pilots, but they are all regular military contractors.
According to Sergei, the conditions at his relative are field conditions. Accordingly, and the food is specific: perlovka with stew, sometimes buckwheat.
-Ilya said that there are no vegetables, and admits: "To be honest, it's already fucked up with the same thing," explains the interlocutor. - How long they will be there, no one knows. Maybe at the end of the month, maybe in early April they will let them go. Nobody says, since, according to Ilya, orders from above come in envelopes.
Reminder, Alexander Lukashenko said that such a large-scale inspection in the army is being carried out for the first time. As we've already written, February 16, men began to be enlisted en masse. The summonses were brought to men just hours before the prescribed time, then they were kept in the military enlistment offices for a long time. Also, many were outraged that there were no exceptions for young fathers and transparency in the selection.
The Defense Ministry responded. "The specified type of training camp has a number of peculiarities. The terms of arrival of the persons liable for military duty at the preliminary assembly points from the moment of receipt of a summons are minimal and may be less than a day. The duration of this type of training camp can be up to 60 days," said deputy head of the department of the main organizational and mobilization department of the General Staff Yuri Gantievsky.
