What awaits Putin and Russia after the war.

Due to Russia's long war against Ukraine, Russians are increasingly unhappy with their economic situation. Putin could be in trouble if this continues.

Despite everything, the Russian-Ukrainian war will end at some point and there are many factors that could affect the Kremlin and the government there. There is even speculation that Russia could be in for a revolt against the government. Clinton Institute Professor of International Politics Scott Lucas told "Channel 24" that he finds it difficult to speculate who could really replace Putin.

What awaits Russia after the war?"

Scott Lucas noted if Russia suffers a catastrophic defeat in the war it started against Ukraine, then Putin's time in power could come to an end.

This is likely to happen when the front in the east and south fractures.

But right now, with the situation hanging in limbo because of the so-called SWO, there's not enough of a push for people to come out and speak out against Putin," said the Clinton Institute professor of international politics.

Some Kremlin advisers are known to have expressed displeasure with the situation in Russia recently. However, according to Scott Lucas, there are not so many of them that one can say the army will be against Putin.

The professor said Russia's economic and military exhaustion could be a major factor in a change of power in the Kremlin.

-I'm not saying Russia will collapse or there will be a coup, but I think there will be a rethinking there about where to go next. But I don't know if Putin will be allowed to stay in power or survive," he added.
