The United Arab Emirates has struck Iran for the first time. This was reported by Ynet, as well as by Itay Blumental, a war correspondent for Israeli TV channel Kan 11.
"For the first time since the start of the war: the UAE has struck a desalination plant in Iran," the journalist reported in X, citing a source.
The Israeli assessment, cited by Ynet, is that the strike on the desalination plant is only a signal to Iran. Its essence is that if the Islamic Republic continues to hit the UAE, the Emirates may join the military campaign against it, albeit in a limited format.
The UAE Defense Ministry has not announced any strikes against Iran. Earlier on March 8, the military department said the country's air defense systems intercepted 16 ballistic missiles, with another one falling into the sea. In addition, 113 UAVs were destroyed, with another four falling in the country's territory.
The post in X noted that since the Iranian attacks began, air defense forces have detected 238 ballistic missiles and 1,422 drones on approach to the UAE. The Islamic Republic's attacks have killed four people and wounded 112.
