Smoke Went Up: An Oil Depot In Russia's Kstovo Was Attacked

A series of explosions took place in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

On the night of April 23, a series of explosions occurred in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region. According to preliminary information, Ukrainian drones attacked an oil depot in the town of Kstovo, OBOZ.UA.

The impact resulted in a large-scale fire on the territory of the enterprise. This is reported by monitoring Telegram channels.

The air alert in the Nizhny Novgorod region was announced in the evening of April 22 around 23:40. Then some time later explosions started rumbling in different areas.

The Exilenova+ channel also writes that in addition to the oil depot in the Nizhny Novgorod region, UAVs attacked the Gorky oil pumping station. This is an intermediate station that pumps oil from the previous section of the pipeline and pumps it further through the pipeline (often in the Druzhba system) in the direction of Belarus/Europe or to the next refinery hub.

The NASA FIRMS web mapping platform, displaying the locations of fires in near real time, confirms that as of the morning of April 23, a large-scale fire was recorded at the Gorky oil pumping station.

Local residents have complained that a large-scale fire was burning in the area as of the morning, and regional authorities have not even responded to the incident in any way. At the same time, the Russians confirmed that drones attacked an oil pumping station.
