The Belarusian woman appealed to the parents of schoolchildren.
A reader Alesya wrote to the editorial office of Charter97.org:
- Exactly one week ago, the last bell rang in all Belarusian schools. But it did not ring for everyone. If the pupils of the 9th and 11th grades are preparing for exams and graduation, all tenth-graders are waiting for a completely different test. These are the so-called ten-day training and field camps.
Since this year they have become compulsory. Without their passage, as they say, will not be transferred to the final, 11th grade.
My son is just studying in the 10th grade. After consulting with my husband, we decided not to send our son to this "training camp". Our son supported our decision. Since Monday, when the training camp began, he just stayed at home.
And now several times we have been called by the class teacher and head teacher. To their question, why your son is not at the training camp, I briefly answer: he does not participate. Fortunately, even in our class a few more people did the same. And there are about two dozen of them in the whole school.
We just don't want our son to be made a zombie and to be prepared for service in the "army", which is now in Belarus.
Six years ago we participated in protests against Lukashenko's regime. My husband was in the hottest events on August 9 and 10 and got his share of shrapnel from flash-bang grenades. Together with my son we went to the Sunday marches. Fortunately, the repressions bypassed our family.
Then we finally became convinced of what the "Belarusian army" is and with whom it primarily fights.
And with the beginning of Russia's aggression against Ukraine, it became even clearer that the "Belarusian army" can be thrown into senseless meat assaults at the click of Putin's fingers. And the same thing can happen to our children that happened to children in the Russian-occupied parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. There, everyone was taken away under mobilization and sent to the meat grinder. Starting from schoolchildren and ending with old people.
Not long ago my son and I watched the documentary "Mr. Nobody vs. Putin". It vividly shows how children in Russia are simply zombified by war. And my son immediately said that something similar is happening at his school.
And these "military training camps" are also a part of this system of zombification by Lukashenko's regime.
I am very glad that my son understands the situation in our country and in the world. And has not fallen under the influence of propaganda. But it really becomes frightening for children of his age. Won't they become the lost generation that grew up on Lukashenko's propaganda?
Yes, propaganda was in the Belarusian school before 2020, but after those events and after the beginning of the war it became one of the foundations of the Belarusian school.
That's why I would like to appeal to all parents in Belarus. Take care of your children. Do not let the system grind them into a gray mass. Save them for the future free Belarus.
