Matt Damon Spoke About A New Chapter In His Life

The Hollywood star is devoting more and more time to her family.

Actor Matt Damon has admitted that he has entered a new phase of his life, one in which family, careful project selection, and peace of mind have taken priority after decades in the spotlight, according to People (translation by Charter97.org).

Matt spoke about filming Christopher Nolan’s "The Odyssey," in which he played the legendary hero Odysseus. For the film, Damon drastically transformed his physique, shedding weight to reach 75 kg of lean muscle mass, and filming in five countries turned into a real journey for him.

“It was more like an expedition than making a movie,” the actor said.

Outside of film, Damon focuses on his family. Together with his wife, he is raising four daughters. The actor admits that he especially cherishes these last few years, while his younger children are still living at home.

“We have two older children who have already left home, and we realize how quickly these last few years go by,” says Damon.

The actor also shared that working on *The Odyssey* helped him overcome personal fears, including claustrophobia. According to him, playing a character who struggles against fate made him reflect on his own attitude toward life.

“I try to think about what I can control and what I can’t, and to accept what can’t be changed,” Damon noted.

After nearly forty years in the film industry, the actor says he feels a true sense of inner balance for the first time and wants to choose only those projects he can be proud of.
