“Young Front” deputy head commented on film about organization activity shown on TV

Anastasia Palazhanka is disappointed with work of the Belarusian Television First Channel.

She told this in an interview to BelaPAN commenting on film Young Front. Kidnapping shown on the evening of May 13. The film blames “Young Front” for psychological influence of the minor.

“We are happy such attention has been drawn to us, when a film about our organization is shown on the national channel during prime time. Nevertheless I am deeply disappointed with the film,” Palazhanka told.

According to her, she didn’t see anything new in the film. “This is archive records and offscreen voice. The phrases that “Young Front” is based on Christian principles are taken out of context. This offscreen text contradicts itself sometimes in the film,” Palazhanka noted.

In particular, according to her the film says leader of the organization Zmitser Dashkevich has no education. “Workers of the Belarusian television probably don’t know that Dashkevich defends his graduation work in university in Vilnius. I was surprised to see archive record from a protest action against rigging the elections results in 2006. Three years passed, and many things have changed in our organization. I was also surprised to see Artur Finkevich, who broke with “Young Front” long ago and creates a new organization “Young Belarus”. I have an impression that TV workers don’t watch news on TV, listen to radio, or use the internet,” Anastasia Palazhanka told.

“If after this film underachievers began join “Young Front” to excuse their poor success in school... What can I say? Only welcome. With out course “Revival DJs”, our humanitarian programs to create libraries in orphan homes, with organizing competitions in these homes we will bring up patriots who are not indifferent to their friends. We shouldn’t forget a slogan of “Young Front” – “Belarusian idea – Christian content”, the activist of the opposition youth organization says.
