Mikhail Grabovski: I want my children to learn Belarusian

Children of a Belarusian NHL player have dual citizenship.

Mikhail Grabovski said it in an interview with STV channel, Nasha Niva reports.

“My children have dual citizenship. I made Belarusian passports for them. I want them to come here every summer and learn Belarusian. I feel myself a Belarusian. It's especially true after the world championship. It's important,” he said.

The ice hockey player currently plays for the New York Islanders. He played in Canada for many years for the Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL, 2006-2008), the Montreal Canadiens (2006-2008), the Toronto Maple Leafs (2008-2013). He spent the last season with the Washington Capitals.

Grabovski played 12 games for the Islanders, which are ranked fourth in the Eastern Conference, this year, scored three goals and had four assists.
