Visa sanctions are preserved for the head of the Central Election Commission Lidziya Yarmoshyna. Head of the Ministry of Internal Affaires Uladzimir Navumau is on the list of the restricted to go abroad, too.
It should be reminded that the European Union decided on Monday to suspend some sanctions on Belarusian officials for 6 months, France, holding EU presidency said. In particular, a sanction, forbidding Alyaksandr Lukashenka to entry the EU countries, was suspended.
In general, the EU decided to suspend visa bans on almost all people on the black list. Among the Belarusians, who are still banned to go to the EU, is head of the Central Election Commission Lidziya Yarmoshyna.
The people, who were involved in disappearances of opponents of the regime of Lukashenka, were lifted the sanctions. It should be reminded that the international society suspects that a number of Belarusian officials are involved in disappearances of the Belarusian opposition leaders. Among them are former interior minister Yury Sivakou, former secretary of the State Security Council Viktar Sheiman, minister of internal affaires Uladzimir Navumau, and former commander of special purpose troops Dzmitry Paulichenka.
At the same time, EU financial sanctions on A. Lukashenka and his inner circle are still active. In 2006, the European Union froze bank accounts and property of A. Lukashenka and tens of officials from his environment in all countries of the EU.
