Lawyer Harachka: “Court decision will add health problems for Zeltser”

“I think the today’s decision will add health problems for Emanuel Zeltser,” lawyer Zmitser Harachka told to journalists commenting on a decision of the Supreme Court of Belarus.
The Supreme Court has heard a cassation appeal against a judgement of the Minsk city court and left it unchanged. On August 11 E. Zeltser was sentenced to three years in prison for allegedly the use of fake documents and attempted industrial espionage.
The lawyer emphasises that Zeltser’s physical state is difficult now, BelaPAN reports.
“Both Emanuel Zeltser and Vladlena Funk expected the Supreme Court to decide for them. My client still insists he didn’t commit crimes, he considers the judgement to be unjust and unlawful,” Z. Harachka said.
The lawyer went to visit his client in the KGB jail as he left the court building. Z. Harachka said E. Zeltser would most likely serve his term in the same penal colony where Alyaksandr Kazulin was (Vitsba-3 Vitsebsk colony).
