Lukashenka branding personnel protectionism, but forgot his sons

“Personnel protectionism is a constant ally of corruption,” Lukashenka said yesterday at a session on anti-corruption issues.

“Why did the Ministry of Defence, the State Secretariat of the Security Council allow that Lieutenant-Colonel S. Lakamy, son of chairman of the Braslauye district executive committee, was appointed military commissar of the Braslauye district (the Vitsebsk region)? And we are speaking about corruption control here. The main thing for people is to hide “favourites”, to defend their corruption interests,” Lukashenka said.

“... transferring of guilty officials to another position... the only thing I see is that defaulters are offered other comfortable positions...,” he resented.

Commenting on statements of the Belarusian head of state, the AFN website turns attention to the fact that Lukashenka’s eldest son Viktar hold a post of national security advisor to the President of the Republic of Belarus, a member of the Security Council of Belarus.

Dzmitry Lukashenka is chairman of the Central Council of the Belarusian Republican State Public Association “President’s Sporting Club”, and a member of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus.

Younger son Mikalai accompanies his father in all trips in the country and abroad, and even takes reports of commanders-in-chief of the Belarusian army, the website notes.
