Political prisoner Alyaksandr Barazenka stopped hunger strike in the detention facility. But activists of the civil campaign “European Belarus” will continue actions of solidarity with him.
The political prisoner decided to stop a hunger strike after a conversation with his lawyer Paval Sapelka. The lawyer admits he gave a strong advice to Alyaksandr on doing this.
However, activists of the “European Belarus” think they should continue to organise actions of solidarity with the political prisoner near the detention facility from 7.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. every day unless the young man is released.
“Our actions’ objective is release of Alyaksandr Barazenka. His hungry strike has ended, but we haven’t attained our aims. We will continue our pickets unless Alyaksandr is set free,” activist of the campaign Palina Dzyakava told.
“We address everyone, who is interested in Alyaksandr Barazenka’s destiny, and call on everyone to go to the jail walls at 7.00 p.m. every day. Our solidarity has already helped to release some prisoners of conscience. If we express it now, Alyaksandr Barazenka will be released, too,” she says.
