Term of detention of Miraslau Lazouski is extended for 10 days. Wife of the arrested Nina Shydlouskaya told in an interview to the Charter’97 press center the terms of custody would be extended for the other arrested over the case.
A new term was authorised by a prosecutor, who investigates the case over the bomb, exploded in Minsk on 4 July.
“It is permitted by law. But it was clear from very beginning that the detained persons have no relation to the blasts. Formally, Muiraslau is checked if he belongs to a “destructive organisation”, because he, as the rest of the detained, used to be a member of the Belarusian Association of Militarymen, and took active part in real patriotic education of the Belarusian youth, not the patriotism promoted by the current authorities now. So he is under strict KGB control,” Nina Shydlouskaya explains.
She thinks the term of detention is extended because the investigation doesn’t have any proofs of guilt of the arrested. “The law enforcement agencies have no proofs, so they have extended the custody term. In my view, the authorities just don’t know what to do and how to settle up the situation. I don’t know how they interrogate my husband and other suspected, I hope to learn it tomorrow from lawyer Paval Sapyolka, who will defend Miraslau. The lawyer is to demand a meeting with him tomorrow,” N. Shydlouskaya said.
Nina Shydlouskaya also commented to the Charter’97 press center on the details of searches in apartments of the detained persons, when thing, common for every household, in particular, screws, nuts, empty varnish cans, juiceboxes, were seized as evidence.
“Generally speaking, taking into consideration the evidence, seized from our and others’ apartments, every from 10 millions of the Belarusians can be arrested over the bomb case. What can be said more, if earching the apartment of Chyskau’s apartment, militiamen made her our juice from a box to somewhere else, and took away an empty juicebox. I can’t add anything,” Nina Shydlouskaya told.
Concerning V. Lyashchynski’s arrest, there is information he was detained on 7 July, but the details are unknown. S. Chyslau, detained on 7 July, hasn’t lived in Belarus for a year, he lives in Moscow where he runs his business. According to his mother Halina, during the search of the apartment of Syarhei’s sister Natallya, militiamen seized an empty juicebox and half-empty varnish can. M. Lazouski and I. Korsak were detained in Minsk on 8 July. Their apartments were searched. Lazouski was seized computer system unites, some documents and foil, Korsak – a packet of nuts and screws and rubber gloves.
According to the latest information, Tatsyana Pikun (the surname may be incorrect), was detained over bomb case, too.
