Belarusian “chamber” MPs threaten Europe with Russian missiles

9

Deputies of the Belarusian “parliament” are make threats addressed to the countries of the European Union, at the territory of which elements of a US anti-missile system are to be deployed.

On July 8 the US and the Czech Republic have signed an agreement on installing radar, a part of the third region of the US global anti-missile system. Russian Fopreign Ministry has made a statement threatening with a response “not by diplomatic, but by military and technical methods”. Experts of “Zavtra tvoej strany” reflect on whether it is possible that Russian missiles would be deployed at the territory of Belarus.

- From a military point of view, there is no such need, as missiles do not decide anything, -- an analyst Raman Yakauleuski believes. – It is just a propaganda smokescreen used as a response to deploying the elements of the system, as they think. And to Belarus this information is mostly flows from Belarus, not from Moscow. And in Moscow this information mostly issued from certain militaristic circles, I emphasize, not from the highest establishment.

- The return of Russian missiles is not only possible, it is necessary, so that those who allow deploying US missiles at the territory of the Czech republic, Poland and Lithuania, knew that they would receive a reaction strike without any delay, -- states the deputy of the “camber of representatives” of the “national assembly” of Belarus Syarhei Kastsyan. – And Russian missiles are sure to be deployed in our country and in Kaliningrad.

According to the “deputy”, such a move does not contradict Belarusian laws. “Belarusian legislation allows bring [armaments] into the country and ensuring defence capability of our country,” Kastsyan is convinced.
