The actions, taken by the Belarusian riot militia against journalists, are similar to the outrage organized by the law enforcement agencies of Ahmadinejad.
It was the third time for the last month when riot militiamen have impede the work of journalists during dispersal of the peaceful rally in Minsk on October 16.
Journalists, photo correspondents and camera operators were not allowed to film the dispersal again. If on rallies on September 9 and 16 two or three men hindered every journalist, this time each correspondent was followed by five riot militiamen, who snatches lenses and damaged cameras.
If we managed to make some photos and video footage of the outrage during dispersals on September 9 and 16, this time journalists were almost unable to film anything!
The Iranian law enforcement agencies used the same methods to suppress opposition protests against rigging the presidential elections results.
The aim is the same in both cases – to hide from the world the atrocity and outrage of the law enforcement agencies against civilians.
We call the Belarusian journalists to solidarity – only together can we defend our right to profession!
