Medvedev and Lukashenka’s meeting has dragged on

The bilateral meeting of the government lasted for four hours instead of one, later prime ministers joined the conversation.

Prime Ministers of the two countries Vladimir Putin and Syarhei Sidorski joined the talks of Dmitry Medvedev and Alyaksandr Lukashenka in the Kremlin, said the spokesperson of the president Natalya Timakova.

As said by her, the issues on the agenda of a session of the Supreme State council of the “union state” of Belarus and Russia are discussed.

As Interfax learnt, during the conversation the presidents of the two countries summoned members of delegations when discussing certain issues.

According to the protocol, the first meeting was to last about an hour, but their talks are continuing for more than 4 hours already.

As stated by experts earlier, in the framework of trilateral Customs Union with participation of Russia and Kazakhstan, Belarusian authorities hope to successfully insist on lifting dues for Russian oil import, and expect the favourable regime of gas deliveries to be maintained next year. Official Minsk is also interested in recovering credit support by Moscow. Many times Lukashenka expressed worries that the last $500 mln of $2 billion Russian loan haven’t been granted to him yet.

It was expected that at the meeting with his Russian foil Lukashenka would touch upon the issue of improving access of Belarusian goods to the Russian market.
