Paval Yukhnevich: “Our freedom fight will continue”

An activist of the civil campaign “European Belarus” Paval Yukhnevich has expressed gratitude t all Belarusians, who took part in the rallies of solidarity with political prisoners on October Square in Minsk.

“Our daily rallies haven’t resulted in release of political prisoners still, but we managed to attract attention of world mass media to the fact that there are Prisoners of conscience in Belarus. Young people will continue struggle for release of all political prisoners. Besides, we call upon all who are not indifferent to their future, to distribute information about the hunger strike of Mikalay Autukhovich, and that in our country innocent people are thrown to prisons on far-fetched accusations. We call upon you to come to “For Independence!” march on May 14, and to come to October Square at 6 p.m. on the Day of Belarusian Solidarity May 16. I call upon all Belarusians to show solidarity. Though today’s rally has unfortunately ended in detentions, our freedom fight is to continue. Long live Belarus!” Paval Yukhnevich stated.

As we have informed, rallies of solidarity with political prisoners were held in Minsk daily starting from May 1. Belarusians have been rallying as a sign of support to political prisoners, one of which, Mikalay Autukhovich, is on hunger strike since April 16, which poses a serious threat to his life.
