Oleh Skrypka spoke Belarusian and unfurled a national Belarusian white-red-white flag on the second day of Be Free Belarusian rock festival in Chernigov.

On August 23, Lena Ivanova (Chernigov), Glofira (Homel), Hair Peace Salon (Minsk), Tarpach (Minsk ), Nazad Shliakhu Nemae (Kyiv), Litvin Troll (Minsk), Imprudence (Minsk), Zero-85 (Poland), ULIS (Minsk) played gigs at Be Free festival in Chernigov. Headliners Vopli Vidopliassova ended the second day of the fest.

The fest’s closing day met with bad weather, but the performance of Ukrainian band Vopli Vidopliassova slaked the weather conditions, Euroradio reports.

Vopli Vidopliassova appeared on the stage signing Urkainin “Kupilinka” – the song “Marusya Raz, Dva, Tri”. The appearance of the band was organized in a showy way: security, red berets, cameras, cars with tinted windows.

As viewers say, the gig by the headliners was the most interesting and spectacular. Voice of Vopli Vidopliassocva’s vocalist Oleh Skrypka singing songs and reading poems was heard all over the festival’s territory. Oleh Skrypka asked the audience how to say “Yes” in Belarusian and tried to speak Belarusian.

At the end, Oleh Skrypka raised white-red-white and Ukrainian flags and sang his hit Vesna.

Chernigov has become the third city to host the festival. It was held in Lutsdk and Lviv before and gathered such famous bands as Haidamaki, Tartak (Ukraine), Neuro Dubel (Belarus), Metanoia (Poland) and about 10,000 viewers.

The festival is organized by the Belarusian Musical Initiative, the initiative Studformat, and European Radio for Belarus. More than 20 bands from Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, and France, both young and well-known, were invited to play at the fest.

Ukrainian partners of Be Free are the Rock Club of Chernigov and the Chernigov Human Rights Committee. Besides, the fest was taken under the patronage of the Chernigov town council.

We head of the Belarusian Musical Alternative Vital Supranovich says, the aim of the festival is uniting the best rock projects and rock music amateurs from the neighbouring countries with an idea of freedom of creativity and self-expression, and attracting attention to the modern rock stage of Belarus.
