Lukashenka is neither a guarantor nor a figure able to secure normal development of the country, Andrei Sannikov thinks.
The exacerbation of relations between the Belarusian and Russian leadership has affected the political situation in Belarus, presidential aspirant Andrei Sannikov, the leader of European Belarus civil campaign, said on Tuesday in Mahilou.
“Neither of the Belarusians needs this conflict,” Sannikov is convinced. “Everybody would like to have fine relations with Russia all the more so because Belarus strongly depends on Russian energy.”
In his opinion, the sitting president of Belarus, who promised to have good relations with Russia forever, has lost popular trust he had before.
“Now Lukashenka is neither a guarantor nor a figure able to secure normal development of the country and normal relations with the neighbours,” Sannikov states.
He is sure there are many people in Belarus who “are prepared and will talk seriously with Russia”, BelaPAN informs.
