110 thousand signatures in support of Andrei Sannikov collected

The leader of “European Belarus” has collected the number of signatures necessary to be registered as a presidential candidate.

As Interfax agency has been informed by a coordinator of “European Belarus” civil campaign Andrei Sannikov, “100,000 signatures have been collected already, and collection is to go on, though we make the quality our priority.”

This information has been commented for charter97.org website by Uladzimir Kobets, the head of Andrei Sannikov’s initiative group.

“By October 21 in the morning, according to the data from regional headquarters, more than 110 thousand signatures of voters have been collected across the country. Signature sheets are continued to be brought to territorial election commissions daily. Half of the collected signatures have already been brought to election commissions by us. The quantity of signatures in the regions and in Minsk is almost equal. Beside door-to-door campaign, we continue to collect signatures at pickets. We have a pressing request to those who want to give a signature, to come and sign. The collection of signatures is to continue till October 29.

The more signatures we collect, the more difficult it would be for the authorities to interfere. Sannikov is our president,” Uladzimir Kobets said.
