First Defense Minister of Belarus, General-Colonel Kazlouski shares his impressions about visits to different parts of the country.

An electioneering agent of the candidate for presidency Andrei Sannikov, Pavel Kazlouski, has addressed voters in Slutsk, Brest, Baranavichy, Dzyarzhynsk, Hrodna, Slonim, Ivatsevichy, Byaroza, Luninets, Mikashevichy and other towns of Belarus. According to the former Defense Minister, the pressure of the authorities on the people would cause an adverse reaction, the press-service of “European Belarus” civil campaign reports.

“People’s activism is growing noticeably. People are more and more actively visit meetings with candidate Sannikov, his electioneering agents. In many towns where we held meetings, we saw audiences filled to capacity – in Hrodna, Slonim, Mahilyou and many others. People where standing in aisles, in corridors.

I have just returned from Luninets and Mikahsevichy. Voters told about harsh methods used to force people to take part in early voting. The pressure is great. All printed materials of pro-democracy candidates are destroyed, people are banned to visit meetings with democratic candidates, people are driven into the early voting.

People understand that the electoral fraud is mostly commited during the early voting, but they certainly give in to this pressure, they have fear to lose their job, especially in small towns. But this duress also produces a reaction. People’s activism, their words at the meetings demonstrate that they have got over their fear. They see that only by mastering one’s fear one can change one’s life. People are really fed up with this regime,” Pavel Kazlouski said.
