Ancient capital of Poland declared Lukashenka non-grata person

The city council of Krakow has adopted a resolution declaring Alyaksandr Lukashenka non grata person in the ancient capital of Poland because of human rights violations.
Deputies addressed the European parliament with a request to adopt all the possible effective measures to defend Poles persecuted in Belarus.
“The city council of Krakow as a sign of solidarity with our fellow nationals in Belarus declares Alyaksandr Lukashenka non grata person in Krakow until violations of democratic and European standards continue,” the statement adopted by majority vote reads, BelaPAN informs.
“Our resolution does not solve the problem, but we believe that every action in this direction is well-founded. It is a gesture of solidarity and an attempt to show that we do not forget about the Poles living in Belarus,” said the initiator of the resolution, an independent deputy Dariusz Olszówka.
We remind that recently crackdown on the Union of Poles in Belarus have aggravated. On February 17 the Polish Sejm passed a resolution condemning actions of Minsk against the Polish minority. The resolution recommends to return to the policy of sanctions against the Belarusian leadership.
