“Nasha Niva”: “House of representatives” may appoint presidential elections in Belarus for September 26

The independent newspaper received information about possible holding presidential elections in autumn.

The council of the “house of representatives” of the “national assembly” is expected on June 16 to consider a draft regulation of the lower house on appointing the date of the presidential elections.

The document worked out by a special parliamentary group proposes to appoint the presidential elections for September 26.

“Nasha Niva” addressed the press service of the “house of representatives” for comments, but the press service didn’t confirm the data about possible appointing the presidential elections for September 26 appealing to the lack of information.

The agenda of the “house of representatives” published on the official website doesn’t say about sititngs on June 16.

If the council of the “house of representatives” adopts the draft, the lower house is supposed to take its decision by June 26.
