EU leadership made strong statements on gas supplies cuts to European consumers.
As Reuters reports, EU Commissioner for energy Gunther Oettinger said reduction of Russian gas supplies to Europe through Belarus was an “attack against the whole European Union”.
Oettinger called on the Belarusian authorities “not to try to involve Europe in its own problems”.
Oettinger confirmed Lithuania was loosing 40% of Russian natural gas delivered through Belarus. Earlier, Lithuania gas company Lietuvos Dujos reported about a 40% reduction of supplies. It was also reported that supplies to Kaliningrad through Lithuania could be restricted if the situation wasn’t changed.
