All Internet shops will be checked in Belarus

12

The necessity of monitoring is explained by the fact that Internet shops “do not adhere to the legislation in full”.

In the third quarter of 2010 year the Ministry of trade of the Republic of Belarus will carry out the monitoring of Internet shops. This was told by Deputy Head of Department of Consumer Rights Protection and Advertisement Control of the Ministry of trade Volha Krautsova on August, 10 at a press conference in Minsk, BelaPAN reports.

According to Krautsova, data about Internet shops are being collected. At the first stage of the monitoring the representatives of the Ministry of trade will check the registration of Internet shops in the Trade Register.

The second stage of the monitoring, according to her words, presupposes the check of the adherence of Internet shops to the legislation on consumer rights protection. The representatives of the Ministry of trade will check, in particular, whether all the necessary company details (location, license) are stated at the e-sites of Internet shops.

The fine for violation of trade rules makes up from 5 up to 10 base amounts (a base amount— 35 thousand Belarusian Rubles).

According to the Ministry of trade, 2 thousand and 954 Internet shops are registered in the Trade Register.
