BT made diagnosis to Lukashenka

A film “Psychology of deviation” in much detail told about psychological deviations of loners.

A filmmaker Yury Khashchavatski, an author of more than 30 films, including “An ordinary president”, “Ploshcha” (Square), “Lobotomy”, has answered questions of Radio Svaboda.

- On September 7 in the evening the Belarusian TV screened another film about the Belarusian opposition “Psychology of deviation”. Have you watched it? What are your impressions?

- I watched it on purpose, and I can say that I have not missed anything. I received an interesting confirmation. There was an interview with a children’s doctor, who explained what a deviation (mental disorder of a child) is. And I have long-standing suspicions that our president has developmental delay and stays in childhood. Take his roller skis races along the central streets of Minsk, for instance. And the doctor names all the signs of deviation: reluctance to listen to other opinions, preference to one’s own opinion always… it means that if they were making a diagnosis, they have made a diagnosis to our president. The doctor said that it is characteristics of individualists. One could recall hockey games in Drazdy, when he played with his dog.

Peculiar political analysts made statements there. One of them, whose name I do not remember, said that changes in the rhetoric are sure to take place, that is, there would be accusations against Lukashenka. It’s true, such changes in the rhetoric have taken place, but they have happened even in Russia.

The doctor has also said that if a child is financially dependent, it becomes aggressive. It is a precise strike.

From the medical point of view, I received great pleasure. It had nothing to do with the opposition, but reminded a film about the diagnosis of our leader.

- You have naturally watched the films “Godbatka” by NTV channel, and they used parts of your film “An ordinary president”. If we compare propaganda films, Belarusian and Russian ones, what is the difference in their artistic methods, for instance, between “Godbatka” and a once well-known film “Children of lies”?

- Propaganda films are not a creative work, but pure propaganda. But the difference is great. “Godbatka” films are the first propaganda films which have the very truth, 100% of truth. There was an insignificant inaccuracy, which was not the main point. They could be unaware of it.

Watching these films, one can realize advantages of the democratic rule in the country. If we imagine we have one “union state”, we have something like two parties, pro-Putin party and pro-Lukashenka party. And some mass media support Putin, while others support Lukashenka. And it happens so that Putin’s mass media are telling the truth about Lukashenka to us, while “Sovetskaya Belorussia” publishes quotes from Nemtsov’s report about Putin. It is good that “Godbatka” film was created. It is always useful for people to know the truth.

- On September 6 in Minsk last farewell to Aleh Byabenin was said. And you mentioned that once Aleh Byabenin initiated creation of your film “Ploshcha” about the events of 2006 in Minsk. The new election is approaching. Are you collecting materials for a new film? Will there be something about Aleh Byabenin’s death?

- When I saw this great quantity of people, these miserable faces of beautiful people, who came there of their own free will, no one had made them to go there, I received an impulse of optimism despite of sorrow. At that moment I thought that one more film should be created, and it should be started with that tragic moment. We do not know the truth yet, what had happened in reality, but I think we would learn it very soon.
