Russian media: Lukashenka’s initiative group formed unlawfully

The news story about this was among top news of RosBusinessConsulting (RBC) agency and other media.

According to RBC, the Central Election Commission of Belarus registered the last 17th presidential candidate Alyaksandr Lukashenka with violations.

In accordance with the Belarusian law, a candidate must come to the Central Election Commission to apply for registration. In violation of the legislation, Lukashenka didn’t come to the Commission, as fie years ago. The application was filed by minister of education Alyaksandr Radzkou, the head of his initiative group.

Lukashenka started his election campaign with anti-Russian statements. “The Kremlin cannot influence the election in Belarus,” he noted. He also added that the recent anti-Belarusian propaganda of the Russian press was a proof of Kremlin’s “stupid behavior”. “This dirt was an advantage for us. I wish they would go on with their stupid behavior,” the Belarusian ruler said.

The Russian News Service and RIA Novosti also reported about violations in the course of registration of Lukashenka’s initiative group.

The presidential election in Belarus is scheduled for December 19, 2010. Former deputy foreign minister Andrei Sannikov, poet Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu, economist Yaraslau Ramanchuk and other persons are going to run in the election besides Lukashenka. Presidential aspirants must gather 100,000 signatures in their support and present their income declarations by October 29.

As NEWSru.com informs, the harsh information war between Lukashenka and Russia give the Belarusian opposition a hope for change of the regime. As an opinion poll says, the Belarusians are also ready to change Lukashenka for a new leader. 39% of the respondents are ready to vote for him, while 51% want to vote for a new politician to head the country.

Lukashenka started his campaign with an anti-Russian attack while the opposition offers to reset relations with Russia. Opposition members come to a conclusion that full development of the country is impossible without Russia’s support, so they try to take Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovich’s policy towards Russia as an example. The Ukrainian leader stands for closer ties with the European Union but improves relations with Russia.
