Ministry of Justice issues written warning to BHC

The Ministry of Justice of Belarus issued a written warning to Belarusian Helsinki Committee (BHC).

The warning to BCH is rendered by the Minister of Justice for “violation of the laws on public associations, mass media, violation of spreading wrongful information discrediting the law-enforcement agencies and the bodies of justice of the Republic of Belarus, violation of the organization’s Rules,” the press service of the Ministry says.

The Ministry of Justice thinks the information sent by Belarusian Helsinki Committee to international organization gives a biased picture of the activity of governmental and law-enforcement agencies on maintaining stability and public order in the republic, misinterprets the real situation in the country, and makes an attempt to discredit the Republic of Belarus in the eyes of the world community,

We remind that Belarusian Helsinki Committee sent the United Nations an appeal commenting on the pressure on KGB prisoners’ lawyers from the Ministry of Justice.
