Criminal case opened against Mikhalok?

The musician can be punished for his audacious remarks criticizing the authorities.

As “Belorusski Partizan” has learnt from reliable sources, a criminal case was opened against Syarhei Mikhalok, the leader of the iconic Belarusian music band Lyapis Trubetskoy.

The new prosecutor general decided to fawn on Lukashenka and ordered to initiate a criminal case against the famous musician. The case was opened by the prosecutor’s office of the Tsentralny district of Minsk. He is charged with insulting Lukashenka.

The musician is on tour in Russia now. He declined to give expanded comments. “I do not know any details. Yes, a summons to appear in the prosecutor’s office for questioning was delivered. The summons was received by my mother, who was at home at that time. I’ll clear it up when I return to Minsk,” Suarhei Mikhalok said.

Mikhalok has recently given some scandalous interviews, which caused hatred of the Belarusian authorities.

“He is not a president. He gathered “black” brigades around him and carries out genocide of Belarusians,” this is Mikhalok’s rather mild remark about Lukashenka and his henchmen. “He is a man that hates his nation. In best case, he deserves fair trial. But such criminals as Lukashenka do not leave witnesses of their crimes,” the frontman of Lyapis Trubetskoy said in an interview to Internet TV channel 1tvnet.ru.
