Kulyashou promoted to higher rank for dispersing demonstration on December 19

Alyaksandr Lukashenka signed decrees to give military ranks, special ranks and grade ranks on February 22.

In particular, Police Major General Anatoly Kulyashou, the Minister of Internal Affairs, has been promoted to Police Lieutenant General.

Prosecutor of the Brest region Syarhei Khmaruk has been given a grade rank of a state counselor of justice of third class.

Besides, ranks of major generals have been given to two colonels and one colonel of justice.

Kulyashou said a press conference on January 26 that he had commanded the law-enforcement agencies on Independence Square in Minsk on December 19. “It was a clear plot, a clear scenario with an aim of a coup and armed seizure of power in the country,” the minister said.
