On February 4 family of the United Civil party leader has received another letter of the KGB jail prisoner.
The politician writes to his family that he has read through The White Guard (by Mikhail Bulgakov) in the KGB jail “Amerikanka”. He writes his letters in Belarusian. In actual fact, he used Belarusian before, but in this case it is done just to be safe. The son of the politician, Artsyom, has told that to “Belarusian partisan”.
“One more letter from my father has been received today. He writes that he keeps well, he has one hour walk every day, he does his morning exercises. He has read through The White Guard by Bulgakov, and now he tries to get through a detective story. He writes not to worry about him, and says hello to everyone… He had bought very tasty salo (bacon) in the shop. It is clear from the letter that there are no problems with receiving parcels, everything we send is received by him, but there is a problem with letters, they are not received still,” Artsyom says.
“My mood is great because I have received a parcel from you. I hope that it is a response to my message, and it cannot but make me happy,” A. Lyabedzka writes to his family.
Anatol Lyabedzka reminded Artsyom: “When I see your handwriting on the blanks of the parcel, my spirits rise at once.”
The politician spoke Belarusian before, but Artsyom also believes this to be some kind of safety net as well.
“He has done so before, but I think it is done just to be safe, as to understand the sense of some words and phrases, KGB men have to use dictionaries,” Artsyom sais.
The lawyer saw Anatol Lyabedzka on December 29, 2010. “Investigative actions are not carried out for sure, as the lawyer has not been invited. Interrogations could be held without a lawyer only with his written consent, and my father has not given one,” Artsom Lyabedzka said.
