Lawyers of Zmitser Dashkevich ask to send him to correctional labour view of serving one third of his prison term, political prisoner’s fiancée Nasta Palazhanka said.
Lawyers of Zmitser Dashkevich have applied to the Corrections Department asking to change the measure of punishment for the political prisoner.
“We are asking to change a measure of punishment of Zmitser Dashkevich to restraint of liberty in view of serving one third of his sentence,” the application says.
Lawyers of the political prisoner apply to the Corrections Department in response to a trial scheduled for September 13 in the penal colony in Horki, where a question on changing the place of serving sentence will be considered.
The colony administration charges Dashkevich with committing “gross violations of the internal rules”. Dashkevich’s lawyers ask to release the political prisoner from the colony change the measure of punishment and sent Zmitser to correctional labour. If admitted a “malicious offender”, Dashkevich will be sent to an open type prison facility.
Young Front members Zmitser Dashkevich and Eduard Lobau were detained on December 18, 2010, the day before the post election demonstration in Minsk. On May 24, the activists were sentenced to prison terms for alleged beating of two persons.
