Ambassador Maira Mora met representatives

On September 26 Maira Mora, the Head of the European Union Delegation to Belarus, met with representatives of the National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum.

The sides discussed the agenda and organisational aspects of the Eastern Partnership summit, which is to be held in Warsaw on September 29-30.

“Strong partnership with the civil society, which aim is to build a deep and stable democracy, is to become a considerable part of the summit’s agenda. We will reinforce the role of the Civil Society Forum through support of national platforms, as well as through founding a program for civil society in the framework of the Neighbourhood policy and the European Foundation for Democracy Support,” Mrs Mora said.

Today’s meeting is one among a number of meetings held in the Eastern Partnership countries initiated by the EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood policy Stefan Fuele. The objective of the meetings is to prepare its participants for the summit and accompanying events.
