Mikhail Musski given 5 more days in custody

Mikhail Musski, a Young Front activist, was tried today in the Maskouski district court of Minsk.

The opposition activist was accused of disorderly conduct. Officers of the Maskouski district police department Davidzyuk and Savuhin were called to court as witnesses, Viasna human rights centre reports.

Judge Viktar Kazak, who heard an administrative case against the activist, sentenced the young man to 5 days in custody.

We remind Mikhail Musski and two other Young Front members were to be released on April 11 after 15 days in custody, but Musski was left in a detention centre in Akrestin Street for unclear reasons.

Human rights activist Anastasia Loika thinks detention of Musski is connected with his refusal to undergo military service and demands to have alternative service. He was summoned to a military enlistment office for May 14. Mikhail is most likely to be convoyed to the military office.
