Uladzimir Kobets: Conservation of Lukashenka regime leads to Lukashenkanization of whole region

Uladzimir Kobets, Andrei Sannikov's election campaign manager, comments on the meeting with Chief of Staff of the German Chancellery Ronald Pofalla.

“At the meeting with Ronald Pofalla on June 7, where leaders of Belarusian political parties and organizations were present, I noted a thing, we prediceted some years ago. I mean Lukashenkanization of the whole region. We warned the EU the Belarusian issue should be solved, because conservation of the Lukashenka regime leads to Lukashenkanization of the whole region – Ukraine and Russia. The issue is perhaps difficult, but it is a key issue. Besides, I raised a question on Belarusian centres abroad and remind that it was the diaspora that gave Valdas Adamkus to Lithuania, Toomas Ilves to Estonia, etc.

Uladzimir Kobets also raised a theme of lifting the visa regime with the EU for Belarusian citizens.

“We need to solve the readmission issue and not to wait for the regime to make steps forward. The visa regime can be lifted only by one side. We live in the 21st century. There's nothing impossible,” Kobets said.
