Siarhei Kaliakin: “There were no “carousels” before”

More than a third of the observers were denied to get the voters lists form electoral commissions.

The coordinator of the “For Fair Elections” and the head of the Belarusian Left Party “Fair Wolrd” Siarhei Kaliakin told charter97.org about the violations on the polling stations.

“It is too early to discuss today’s elections, but our observers are already registering different violations. At the early voting we saw forced voting – especially that was the case with students and functionaries. There are fact of information concealment at polling station – more than a third of the observers were denied to receive the voters lists, registered at their polling stations. Whereas the lists received by the observers contain some inaccuracies”, - the politician noted.

“Also there are evidences of the turnout falsification. The difference in the turnout assessment according to the electoral commissions and independent observers, which were counting every single person, is 9,5%. Also we are facing such a know-how known as “carousels” – we didn’t have that before”, - Siarhei Kaliakin said.

“We’re continuing to observe 657 polling stations in 36 constituencies. Tomorrow we will be able to report to the public with detailed information from all the polling stations”, - the “For Free Elections” campaign’s coordinator said.
