Slonim police threatens oppositionists

The head of the town’s union of democratic forces Ivan Sheha received a written warning from Slonim district’s police department.

The document is signed by a major of police Ihar Klybik. In the document the opposition activist is being warned of “the inadmissibility of violating the order of organizing or holding a mass event or picketing”, - human rights center Viasna reports.

Slonim residents three times applied for holding events on the 95-th anniversary of Belarus People’s Republic proclamation, but all the applications were rejected. Nevertheless, Ivan Sheha said, that the Freedom Day will be celebrated in Slonim.

We would remind that an action, devoted to the 95-th anniversary of the proclamation of Belarus People’s Republic will take place in Minsk on 24 March. It will start at 12.00, the gathering of participants is allowed by Minsk city executive committee at the site before the Oktiabr cinema.
