Bialatski’s property taken away from his apartment

Court officers started taking away the things, which were distrained before, from the apartment of the political prisoner.

The wife of politically imprisoned Ales Bialatski Natalia Pinchuk told Radio Svaboda that on the day before a court officer took a TV-set from their apartment, which had been distrained before Ales’ trial:

“I memorized the commentary by a court officer. When he was taking the TV-set out of the house, he said: “It is like they could not have distrained something more valuable!”

According to Natalia Pinchuk, it is the first item of Bialatski’s property being taken out of the apartment.

We would remind that in November 2011 Ales Bialatski was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison for alleged concealment of incomes from abroad. The reason for the criminal prosecution of Bialatski was the information about his foreign banking accounts, passed to Minsk by Lithuanian and Polish officials in the framework of bilateral agreements on legal assistance.

In the court Bialatski claimed that the money in those accounts were used to human rights activities.
