Political prisoner Dzyadok cannot receive medicines

Political prisoner Dzyadok cannot receive medicines

The prison authorities refused to accept a medical parcel for Mikalai Dzyadok.

The political prisoner has left a punishment cell, where he spent 6 days. Radio Svaboda learnt it from a lawyer, who visited Mikalai Dzyadok in prison in Mahilou.

The father of the political prisoner thinks it's not a coincidence that several anarchist activists were thrown into punishment cells in the last month. Alyaksandr Dzyadok supposes the political prisoners have faced pressure to make them apply for a pardon. The prison authorities invented another restriction for Mikalai Dzyadok.

“We learnt that we can send him a medical parcel only in three months. They forbade to send them more often. We wanted to send him vitamins and medicines, because he is on a diet. But the lawyer told us we cannot to do it,” the political prisoner's father said.

It should be reminded that Mikalai Dzyadok, Ihar Alinevich and Alyaksandr Frantskevich were convicted by Misnk's Zavadzski district court on May 27, 2011. They were charged with carrying out arsons attacks on buildings, holding a anti-military picket near the Ministry of Defence in 2009,  throwing Molotov cocktails at the Russian embassy in Minsk and a detention facility in Akrestin Street in 2010. Mikalai Dzyadok was sentenced to 4.5 years in a medium security penal colony. He was transferred to prison No. 4 in Mahilou in December 2012.
