Lukashenka's helicopter costs $4mn

The Kazan plant made a special helicopter for the Belarusian ruler.

Vechernyaya Kazan newspaper writes about it.

Journalists were shown products of the Kazan Helicopter Plant located in the capital of Tatarstan (Russia).

The plant produces Mi-8/117 helicopters that work in more than 100 countries across the world. Journalists turned attention to a big Mi-172 with large letters saying it belongs to the Belarusian ruler. Specialists say the helicopter is under repair.

The custom-built helicopter was made some years ago. Kazan journalists were not told the cost of Lukashenka's helicopter with a luxury cabin and leather chairs, but foreign media report that the VIP Mi-172 cost about 4 million dollars.

The Kazan helicopter is not Lukashenka's only vehicle. He was reported to have bought a plane of late Trukmenbashi not a long time ago. Its cost is a strict secret, which even Belavia employees don't know. The price of Boeing-767-300ER in the international market is from 124 to 160 million dollars. The VIP plane of late Saparmurat Niyazov includes such features as natural leather and wood in the cabin and precious stones and metals in the bathroom.
