Mikalai Autukhovich wants prosecution of Alikhver

The jailed businessman calls on human rights activists to initiate criminal proceedings against the investigator who worked with his first case.

Mikalai Alikhver lives in the US now, Radio Racyja cites Mikalai Autukhovich's letter to Aleh Vouchak, the head of the organisation Legal Assistance to Citizens.

The political prisoner insists that the first criminal case against him initiated 10 years ago was falsified.

“He again returns to this case, because he serves his second prison term due to it. He exposed corruption among officials and gave proofs. He asks why Alikhver, who falsified evidence, moved to the US. He urges international human rights groups to figure out on what grounds Alikhver lives there and asks to sue him,” Aleh Vouchak said.

Mikalai Autukhovich writes human rights activists could present his interests in a US court. He thinks Alikhver's actions can be classified as using his official position to prosecute Belarusians citizens on political motives. The political prisoner claims he has proofs that the case was far-fetched.

Mikalai Autukhovich was sentenced to 5 years in a maximum security prison for exposing corruption among local officials.
