Veterans not allowed coming near Eternal Flame due to Lukashenka’s visit

It is an old story, however people feel aggrieved still.

A reader of charter97.org Alyaksei has recently learnt details of a story that happened 10 years ago, and shared them with the editorial office.

“My grandmother reached Berlin [in the Second World War], she was decorated with medals. My mother went with her to the Eternal Flame to lay flowers. And Lukashenka was there at that moment, and that is why veterans who had no invitation cards were not allowed to come near the Victory monument from the metro station Victory Square.

Just imagine the feelings of my mother and grandmother,” he writes.
