New Details in Aliaksandr Korzhych's Story

An anonymous source in the Armed Forces talked to reporters.

The body of soldier Aliaksandr Korzhych was found on October 3 in the basement of the building of a medical unit. The lock to the basement was broken. Tut.by source in the Armed Forces told details about incident in Pechy.

- To date, 10 people detained: 2 officers- a senior lieutenant Sukovenko and captain Chyrkou, warrant officer Artur Virbal, 2 sergeants of the 3d school - Ehor Skuratovich and Jauhen Baranouski and 5 sergeants of the 307th school (charges are not brought - note.), an anonymous source tells.

The deceased soldier Aliaksandr Korzhych was found in the basement on October 3. Alex had a t-shirt on his head.

Detentions took place not only in the 3rd school, where Alex served, sergeants from the 307th school were detained as well. The source explains: a large percentage of servicemen from the 3rd tank unit, where Alex served later, were at the 307th school. And when the Investigative Committee got involved in the case, information with hazing appeared.

- Korzhych was found in the basement which was not used for a long time, it was an empty room, the source keeps telling.

What was going on with him during the time of missing? He disappeared on September 26 and his body was found on October 3. Why was no one looking for the soldier? The source explains it with "coincidence". When Alex was taken to the first-aid post, the nurse left him in the corridor to wait for the escort, and she was absent. Most likely, before gone missing he left the post on his own. As soon as the nurse returned she did not found the soldier there. As the result, no one knew where the soldier was.

- There is no point to veil some official disorderliness. Most likely, Aliaksandr Korzhych's body was in the basement for 8 days. The nurse was fired. I can say that nurses there are extremely busy because of the last year's optimization: there are only two of four first-aid posts left, but the number of soldiers increased, the interlocutor continues.

After the death of the soldier, his relatives told that Aliaksandr was extorted money, there was a fixed price for everything. If you want to call home, you should pay the sergeant, go to the shop - pay again.

- No matter how unconvincing it may sound, but we fight this system hard. The problem is that young soldiers are silent. Some hope that after six months they will get the same carrots. They will become "grandpas" and will have money. Others are silent because there is a "boy code", according to which "can't be arsed to sneak". If only one-third of them could tell about it, it would be extirpate, the interlocutor believes. - All these monetary relations are not born in the army, it comes from civvies street. From orphanages, Vocational Technical School dormitories, micro-groups of a street life where seniority or physical power rule. In addition, many soldiers were in the police, recruits with a complete secondary education are black swans.

- You recruit them.

- We must comply with the plan. For example, in 2012 we had a surplus of recruitment resources in our country, because 20 years ago there was a demographic boom, many boys were born. So, we called only 8 thousand of 14. That was great. Now the situation differs. The army reflects the society. There is no society consisting of D'Artagnan, and the army of bastards.

- Can the situation change drastically after the death of Alex Korzhych?

- Five years ago there was the case in the 3d school when sergeants extorted money for using mobile phones, cadets then kept silent. And shortly before the demobilization someone volunteered information, sergeants had already managed to retire and lived with their families. A criminal case was opened, a demonstrative trial was organized directly in the unit. Sergeants were condemned to 5-6 years in prison. It was shown that punishment can come at any time, even after the demobilization. It took only five years of silence. Now the story repeats itself. Show trials are not always effective, unfortunately. Everyone hopes it will be not his problem.
