Head Of REP Trade Union In Brest: We Are Growing, Authorities Get Nervous

Another action of protest against the “social parasites” decree is being prepared in the country.

Chairman of the Vorsha organization of the REP Trade Union Aliaksandr Bulauka was detained at around 21.30 yesterday in Vorsha.

Aliaksandr managed to call several people, including employees of the website orsha.eu.

According to him, the policemen detained him in the courtyard of the residential building when he was going home - the detention was not far from the house in which he lives himself. So far, the police suspect that the head of the union was drunk and therefore "staggered". Herein, Aliaksandr insisted that he should be taken for the appropriate examination.

Earlier, Aliaksandr Bulauka was detained after the spring protests and then sentenced by the court, as an active participant in the protests, to some days of arrest. Aliaksandr himself is sure that this is political detention: first, another protest against the decree on parasitism is being prepared in the country, secondly, the Vorsha organization of the trade union is growing very fast and his detention may be an attempt to prevent both processes. Aliaksandr Bulauka is not only the head of the Vorsha branch of the trade union, but also a member of the United Left Party "Fair World".

As of 23.19, Aliaksandr informed that he was released from the police after the examination.
