Outraged Homel Dweller: My Father Fought Against Fascism And Fascist Came Here Again

Outraged Homel Dweller: My Father Fought Against Fascism And Fascist Came Here Again

The march in Homel has revealed that Belarusians had really reached the "boiling point."

A Belsat reporter asked a resident of Homel why she had come to the protest.

– Why have you decided to participate in the March today?

– What do you mean "why"? My children are unemployed, I myself, at one time, too, remained without work – I was thrown into the street, I am forced to work just anywhere, as a cleaner and just do any job. I earn a minimum pension, which is hardly enough to pay the utility bills – no money left to live.

My father was under the bullets and returned disabled. What for? So that his children and grandchildren lived like this?

We have earned what we should have earned. We've earned it in 1941. Enough!

– How do you think, what the Belarusian authorities should do?

– I don't even want to know these "authorities"! I don't even switch my TV-set on. I never watch Belarusian channels: all that is broadcasted there – their big red faces sleeping at the meetings.

We remind that several thousand people took to the streets of Homel today.
