Outraged Belarusians Protest In Regions

Homel, Mahilyou, Hrodna, Breast and Vitsebsk followed the arisen Minsk.

A mass action against the decree on "social parasites" was held in Homel. Approximately three thousand people came to the Vosstaniya Square. People were determined: apart from the requirement to cancel the decree, political slogans were heard, "Lukashenka - resign!", "Lukashenka - go away!". This was the largest protest in the city since the early 2000s.

In Mahilyou the march and action were held on Lininskaya Square. According to various estimates, the event was attended by 500 - 1,000 people.

Several hundreds of people attended a march in the center of Breast. People openly criticized the government and expressed dissatisfaction.

Hrodna dwellers held an action on Savetskaya Square.

In Vitsebsk the action for abolition of the decree on "social Parasites" was held on Pobedy Square.

On February 17, thousands of people participated in the Outraged Belarusians March in the center of Minsk.

The marchers have adopted a resolution demanding that the authorities should "cancel the infamous Decree № 3 "On prevention of social dependency ", stop the decline in real incomes of the population, stop robbing pensioners, stop raising the retirement age, stop increasing fees for municipal services, as well as should return free and fair elections to the people." "If the government does not take any real steps to implement the people's will by March 17, 2017, we will take new collective actions, which training we entrust to our representatives," – is stated in the resolution.
