Protesters Summon Meeting In Kurapaty

The authorities intend to continue the construction of the business center near Kurapaty.

The commission, which reviews the results of public hearings, met at the administration of Pervamaiski district of Minsk today and approved the changes, according to which the conflict site, where the construction of the business center has recently started, is not included in the protected zone.

A Minskgrado representative presented a plan, highlighting some places, located in Pervamaiski district – health care facilities and parkings. Nothing was said about the business center construction, nn.by writes.

9 people voted "for", 1 – "against", 1 – abstained. Thus, a detailed plan was approved.

In addition to the representatives of the Commission, about 30 community activists came to the meeting, among them Aliaksei Yanukevich, Yury Belenki, Pavel Seviarynets, as well as the inhabitants of Savietski and Pervamaiski districts. The public insisted that the procedure of the construction site withdrawal from the security zone near Kurapaty had been violated.

Politicians Aliaksei Yanukevich and Pavel Seviarynets called to hold a citywide rally near Kurapaty on Friday at 18.00.
